Ecological Solar Plants on the Desert

In Western China, Zhenfa takes the advantage of PV plants to cure desertification. A PV generation cluster whose capacity reaches 1000GW has been built around the Tengger Desert, covering an area of 42,700 square kilometers. It helps reduce land surface temperature and evaporation capacity of the area where it is built through solar arrays’ the absorption and shielding of sun light, thus contributes to the survival and growth of local plants as well as the prevention and cure of desertification. Zhenfa puts forward the idea that taking the Tengger Desert as the core and building PV plants along the ancient Silk Road to improve desert environment, expand the coverage of green plants, and realize the vision of building Green Power Corridor along the Ancient Silk Road.
